CeraplatePlus

The CeraplatePlus coating also consists of a two-layer coating design with a metallic base layer and a metal oxide top layer. A stainless steel base layer is applied by laser deposition welding. The CeraplatePlus top layer is then applied by thermal spraying using the APS process (atmospheric plasma spraying). The CeraplatePlus coating thus combines the outstanding wear properties of a metal oxide coating with the excellent corrosion protection properties of a laser coating. This makes the coating suitable without restriction for applications in marine atmospheres and in many offshore applications.

Technical facts:

  • Laser-welded base layer
  • Thermally (APS) sprayed top layer
  • Layer thickness: base layer approx. 150 μm / top layer approx. 200 μm
  • Hardness of the top layer 950 HV to 1,050 HV
  • Surface honed and polished up to Ra = 0.15 μm
  • For piston rods up to a diameter of 1,500 mm and a length of 20 m

Properties:
Very high corrosion resistance and chemical resistance as well as very high resistance to abrasive and erosive wear (corrosion protection certificates according to DIN EN ISO 9227, 3000 hours and ASTM G48, 40°C)

Field of application:
Hydraulic cylinders with the highest corrosion protection requirements in hydraulic steel construction, open-cast mining, coastal installations and offshore applications.
